North Korea is Added onto Trump’s ‘Travel Ban’ List

On Sept. 24, President Donald Trump announced a new travel-ban replacement, adding North Korea to the list of seven other countries banned from United States entry. Following the first travel ban, the administration’s proclamation is planned for enactment on Oct. 18.
The new travel ban encompasses eight supposedly ‘threatening’ countries to the United States, including Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.
Donald Trump announced the plan for the new law, claiming the purpose was for the safety of American citizenry.
“Making America Safe is my number one priority. We will not admit those into our country we cannot safely vet," Trump tweeted.
When asked about the administration’s motives for suddenly adding North Korea to the travel ban list, no clear answer was given.
“North Korea, quite bluntly, does not cooperate whatsoever,” one official said.
Others extrinsic groups have sparked outrage that the Trump administration has denied the abused North Korean refugees travel access to the United States.
“It is senseless and cruel to ban whole nationalities of people who are often fleeing the very same violence that the U.S. government wishes to keep out. This must not be normalized,” the Rights group Amnesty International USA stated.
North Korean visa-holders will not have their current visas nullified, however, the act will ban future North Korean immigrants from entering the country altogether. Despite the current net migration rate of North Koreans to the USA being zero, the ban will force embassies to adjust policies and will impact international immigration actions.
Immigration and refuge for North Koreans will become exponentially more difficult with a lack of cooperation on behalf of the Trump administration. The United States can no longer be considered a viable immigration location for North Korean refugees, making hopes for legal escape and safety grim.

A non-profit organization has sent to North Korea 1000 USBs in a balloon

A non-profit organization has sent to North Korea 1000 USBs in a balloon to inform North Koreans of the outside world and problems of North Korean regime. The main purpose of sending USBs to North Korea is enlightening their mind to see the truth about North Korean regime.

Mr. Mark Sleet, a volunteer of NKinUSA (North Korean Refugees in the United States) participated in sending USBs to North Korea. He is a volunteer writer in the blog (usandnorth.blogspot.com) for North Korean refugees.

The USBs will be used to shut up Kim Jong Un's mouth and let North Korean people speak for freedom.

Chance of Change in North Korea

Who can change North Korea?   How to change?

Recently there has been many sanctions carried out by many countries in the world toward DPR Korea, as a "punishment" for the regime's ongoing military threat.
However, this only worsens the peoples' lives, and has no effect of moving the world toward peace.

Some scholars have pointed out, that the most crucial way for North Korea (DPRK) to change, is to "Let the People Know about Outside World".
As some countries start to limit or ban workers from DPRK, the scholars state that this is a wrong decision, and urges foreign countries to welcome more people from DPRK, so that they can know more the outside world, and spread the "truth" to others.

Usually the wages of workers from DPRK is sent back for the government and they hardly get any money, but at least they can enjoy better life abroad and tell some "different real stories" of foreign lands unlike the description from the central government.

Hopefully, one day the nations wake up to the truth that they are not the happiest nation in the world, and abandon the "illusion" that has lasted for decades. Who can change North Korea? Only North Korean themselves. How to change? To know the world better.

A Letter to Kim Jong Un of North Korea from Jin Hye Jo, President of NKinUSA (North Korean Refugees in the United States)

A Letter to Kim Jong Un of North Korea from Jin Hye Jo, President of NKinUSA (North Korean Refugees in the United States)

Mr. Kim Jong Un!

You may not read this letter.
This letter will not be able to reach to you.
I am writing this letter with hope that you read this letter someday.

I want to think at this moment that you are not the worst dictator nor the leader of North Korea, but just an ordinary man.

I can write a true and honest letter to you after I consider you an ordinary man.

Mr. Kim Jong Un! You can do anything you want to do in North Korea.
You can order people in North Korea to song for you even though they do not want to.
You can order North Koreans to watch movies about you even though they do not want to.
You can order anyone North Koreans not to go to where they want to go.
You can order people in North Korea to work only for you without paying any money to them.
You can let North Korean people die of hunger or order them to eat whatever you want to provide.
You can send North Korean people to labor prisons or execute them if you want to.
You can start a war and threat the world peace by attacking them with nuclear weapons.

But there is one thing you can not do no matter how you try to.
You cannot change the mind of those who hate you.

You want to keep your hundreds of statues, fake historic spots and documents remain to hide your horrible crimes forever.

But you have to remember this.

You will be remembered as the most horrible and cruel criminals in the world history, because it is true that you committed such crimes.

Mr. Kim Jong Un! You can make a decision.
You can stop committing crimes and you have the key to make the divided Korea into one unified country.
You can step down from the power and ask forgiveness for what you have done to North Koreans.

I understand you are afraid of this decision.
You may regret to make such a decision.

But be courageous and abandon regret.
You will be saved from falling into hell.

This is the last chance for you to repent all the crimes that your families have committed.

How can the U.S. Directly Help North Korean Refugees?

Refugees sur place

are people who, regardless of the original reason for fleeing their native country, are in danger if they return to it. Threats of repatriation and persecution loom over the heads of North Koreans living in China, despite international treaties agreeing to protect them.
The United States, especially during the Obama administration's term, has accused and passed measures against the North Korea regime for its human rights abuses. Thousands upon thousands of North Koreans are forced into labor and refugees who are returned to the state are punished by torture and slavery.
The United Nations organization, the U.N., has been recently warning North Korea of crossing the nuclear threat line. Missile tests are picking up, but war isn't the only problem the U.S.A. and the U.N. committee should be concerned with. The millions of people seeking safety and the thousands of refugees sur place hiding in China face the precarious state of their futures every day.
So how can current governments help?
Over a million people are granted visas to the U.S., for a wide variety of reasons, every year. If the government allots a small percentage of these visas exclusively for Korean refugees, both the nation itself and the refugees would benefit: the U.S. could help with a dire humanitarian crisis and those who fled North Korea could find safety.
Now if multiple nations, especially European countries in addition to the U.S., set aside various percentages of their granted visas a year, according to population size and available living room, as well as records of how many refugees come from other nations, we could provide hundreds of opportunities for safety.
This measure would admit refugees legally and give precedence to the people who are under immense threat from their native nations and even the surrounding countries who initially posed as safe places, even giving refugees a chance to become citizens and obtain protection by the national government.

World musn't be silent in front of execution "show"

This morning, when I turned on the news, I heard about something shocking.
The news always reports something shocking, to make it a "news", but seldom like this one which shakes our hearts so shockingly.

A refugee aged 26 (anonym Hee Yoen Lim) who escaped from North Korea in 2015 describes how the supreme leader Kim Jong-Un executed people in public.
One day, when she was still studying at school, she was called out, along with her family, to watch a  "show" of execution taken place in a stadium. There were 11 musicians there waiting to be executed, because they produced "illegal" contents.

Ways of execution includes being shot into pieces and later being run over by tanks.
Kim's totalitarian regime forces people, including children to watch those execution "shows", to show them the consequences of "crossing over the line". Lim said she could not eat for 3 days after watching the "show".

I think when talking about the North Korea (DPRK), the Human Rights issue has to be prioritized. UN also advocates Human Rights as top priorities, but the governors in the world as well as mass media only focuses on the political part and their own interests.

Compared with the politicians, individuals may not have the fame, luxurious properties and such "big fists", but they also feel the pain, the sadness and despair. It's not because they are not famous so their existence is less worthy. We are all born equal, not? The voices of the people in the world cannot be left unheard, since each individual of us is a precious existence.

North Korea is not only about Kim Jong-Un and Nukes

Most people living outside of North Korea may associate with the supreme leader and military development when mentioned about this country, because of the stereotyping caused by mass media and news feeds.

However, like many parts in the world, North Korea has beautiful nature and culture, and like many of us, North Koreans embrace peaceful lifestyles. Although we may not contact with the people directly at the moment, they have same dreams and same concerns like we all have.

The picture below is Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea I captured from Google map.
In your spare time, you can "travel" to many places by Google map and capture some pictures!

A conference about human rights crisis in North Korea was held at Kakushuin University in Japan.

Japanese students asked if North Korean people can watch movies through Smart Phone.
Young North Korean students who were former North Korean refugees asked how much Japanese students are interested in problems in human rights in North Korea.
It is natural that both of them do not know each other.

I think communication is the best to understand each other.
I hope more conferences about human rights of North Korean people are held in Japan and in Korea.

Are there any conference between former North Korean students and American students?

15 North Korean Immigrants on the Brink of Deportation from China

Since August 8, 15 North Korean immigrants have been held at a Chinese detention center, where deportation to their home country is imminent. Deportation would not only involve being forcefully removed from their new country, but it would also mean a lifetime of punishment for the immigrants, and possibly even death. The Human Rights Watch has even considered North Korean immigrants as refugees, escaping from the restrictive government and fearing forceful deportation.

Since 2010, leaving North Korea without permission from the government has been considered “treachery against the nation,” which is met with punishments as severe as death. The North Korean Ministry of People’s Security adopted the new law and have since implemented it.

The 2014 UN Commission of Inquiry on human rights in North Korea reported crimes such as rape, execution, forced labor, and torture against the North Korean prisoners deported from China. In an effort to curb torture and other inhumane punishments for escaping the country, the United Nations has required China to allow North Koreans at risk for torture in North Korea to stay illegally. The Chinese are allowed to punish the illegal immigrants with forced labor in camps called “kyohwasos” rather than deporting them.

The deputy Asia director, Phil Robertson, has suggested that China should recognize the danger that the 15 North Koreans face if their deportation is pursued and should therefore take extreme efforts to ensure the immigrants' safety.

Returning home for these 15 North Koreans could mean extreme punishment, which is why China’s future actions are so important. The fate of these immigrants lies in China’s decision to grant the North Koreans asylum or turn them over to their home country coupled with years of prosecution.

BBC will start to send out broadcasting for North Korean people every day 30 minutes in the night.

From October, 2017 BBC will start to send out broadcasting for North Korean people every day 30 minutes in the night. even though North Korean regime stands against the broadcasting.

The night is better than the day because it is prohibited to listen to foreign broadcasting in North Korea. The main goal of the broadcasting is to let North Korean people know the objective truth about the world. Many North Koreans decided to escape from North Korea after they got access to outside the world including South Korean television dramas.

Two announcers will read the news about the world. One of the two announcers is a former North Korean refugee.  North Korean refugees are very useful resources to change North Korea.

A conference was held to discuss about how to solve the difficulties of rescuing North Korean refugees.

In China it is prohibited to rescue North Korean refugees because North Korean refugees are not considered "refugees" but "illegal economic immigrants".

I think Korean diplomatic power is not strong enough to stand up against Chinese government, because Korean Embassy in China is not active in rescuing North Korean refugees.

All the North Korean refugees have to go to Thailand via China, Vietnam, and Laos, because Thai government is cooperative with Korean Embassy regarding North Korean refugees.
